Just like a coin, Social Media also has two sides negative as well as positive. Social Media is always helpful and an innovative way to interact with a huge amount of people at a time and spreading your brand awareness but as everyone on Social Media has the freedom to give reviews and comments so there are many troublemakers also who will give negative reviews about your product or services.


Social Media is the only platform by which you can reach millions or billions of people at a time. A study found out that Twitter has around 313 million monthly active users. So here in this blog, we are trying to have a glimpse of all Strengths and Weaknesses of Social media marketing.

Strengths of Social Media Marketing:-

1. Easy to get to a large audience
Since social media has now become part of our day to day life, there are almost 95% of active users who use their social accounts on daily basis. Facebook has around 1.13 billion daily, active users, Instagram has 400 million, and Pinterest has 300 million users. Social media made very easy to reach the audience.

2. Social Media is Free

Like any other platforms or tool, social media doesn’t charge any investment to create an account it's completely free, only investment you have to do is to invest your time. If you want to invest money then it also gives facility of paid ads., but it’s not mandatory for everyone.

3. Get SharingIf your posted content is interesting then your followers will automatically share your content and will make sure that it reaches more and more to people and you can also request your followers to share your blogs and posts to their followers which will increase your reach to people.

4. Loyalty towards Brand

It's a human tendency that we believe what we see if you will regularly update about your product and services, the chances of loyalty becomes high. Social Media helps you to build a loyal relationship with your potential and current customers. You can also tell your brand story through social media which will help you to attract customers and build trust in them.

5. Target Audience

Social media will help you to find your target audience because of people on social media write valuable information on their social profiles. And you can get to know what people think about your products, how can you improve your services so that you can meet your target audience, and by understanding the answers of these questions you can improve and stand out your business from the competition.

Social Media Weaknesses:-1. Negative impact on brand

Negativity finds its way no matter what, social media can have a bad impact on your brand. On social media, everyone can write their reviews so the dissatisfied customers write negative comments which will tarnish your brand name. Some negative feedbacks can come from your own clients which will be more dangerous and you will lose your customers.

2. Time is Everything
Social media takes a lot of time to generate social presence and be in the eyes of every social user which means social media is a time-consuming process. When you are new may people ignore your pages but as soon as you will invest your time on your pages you will see the results.

3. Returns are Slow

If you think that by posting regularly you can have a return on investment in one-night then that's wrong. Social media gives a slow result. Brands who want quick results can go to other traditional methods for promotion but social media is not for them.

4. Benefit for Competitors
Social media allows you to know about your competitor strategies but it's a negative thing because your competitors will also know about your strategies through your social media platform and can follow the same which will put your business at risk.
